Both the local high school and my parentsā church (a large United Christ Methodist affair) each put on large, well-attended performances of the ārock operaā that included the entire teen choir.
I now think JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is the greatest show he's ever written. Religious ideas put aside, the score is powerful, witty, sometimes funny, and very dramatic musically! The performances in the cast recording are phenomenal! In particular, I love the vocals/performances of Steve Balsamo (Jesus) and Zubin Varla (Judas). Awesome rock voices!
Jesus Christ Superstar is probably my favorite movie. I think it's beautiful. It's a very moving movie to me. To actually search into the human side of Yeshua is really great. My favorite song in the movie (I haven't watched it live) is Gethesemane, it's really emotional and moving.
